My Northern Brewer package arrived today!!! These hops will be used in my upcoming yeast repitching experiment. (Which I will detail later) I usually like to get all of my ingredients from my local homebrew shop, but I haven't found Simcoe locally and the hop prices online were too good to pass up. Plus, as you can see..it gave me an excuse to get one of their "Mine" full pint glasses...none of this 12oz baloney..this is a proper 16oz imperial pint!
Hop total after the break
1 Oz. US Goldings
2 oz Cascade
4 oz Chinook
3 oz Amarillo
2 oz Centennial
3 oz Simcoe
I've got a pint like that. Makes me want to start bottling in larger bottles so I can fill it all the way up everytime. Or I could start kegging.
ReplyDeleteKegging is SO good!
ReplyDeleteBottling day: with the bucket, boiling priming sugar and caps and filling many many bottles is a thing of the past! I just sanitize the keg, fill it with CO2 and rack straight in. Vent any remaining O2 and stick it in the cellar to carbonate (hooked up to the CO2 tank. So easy.
You can also dial in the carbonation a lot better than with priming sugar.
