Double Brew Day!

Process is everything in brewing. It's unfortunate that I don't get to brew enough to really nail down a systematic process from start to finish on a brew day. I feel like that is slowing me down and causing unnecessary wasted time during my brew day.

That being said, it was awesome to get in a double batch today! I brewed from around 9AM until about 5PM. The double batch system I've been developing is to start an extract batch going in the kettle while I am heating the strike water for an all-grain batch. If all goes to plan, I'm knocking out the extract and cleaning the kettle while the second batch is mashing. Of course that didn't happen today and I ended up doing a 90 minute mash because I was still boiling when the mash was complete.

But I now have 15 gallons sitting in the basement....10 gallons of the Scottish 80- Kilt Lifter+ and 5 gallons of my new On The Loose IPA...my first recipe I came up with all on my own! Brew Logs after the break.
